Melbourne. The foundations for the new Supreme Court buildings are to be commenced at once. Several more bodies have been buried at 1 King's Island ; and the wreck of the British Admiral has been found in seven fathoms of water, and, from its position, it is probable that the cargo will be easily recovered. The German residents sent a congratulatory telegram to Prince Bismarck on his recent escape from assassination. An assistant branch manager of the Bank of Victoria has been arrested on a charge of forgery. His defalcations are said to amount to L 12,000. John Cook has been sentenced to death for the murder of James Dixon, at Beaufort. Re the seduction action Eddy v. Rowe, in which both parties attended the Wesleyan Sunday School class, L 250 damages were awarded. In the collision case in the river, between the City of Hobart, and Otago steamers, the pilot was exonerated from blame. An inquiry is proceeding against the Captain of the ship Dagworth, for running down a fishing vessel in the Irish Channel, and omitting to render assistance to its 'perishing crew. Sydney. Commodore Stirling was married last Wednesday, to a daughter of the Hon. Deas Thomson. In the collision case between the Sierra Nevada and the G. H. Peake, the former has , been relieved of all blame. Dolly Green, the actress, has oommenced a divorce suit against her husband. The Governor likely visits Queensland shortly.
