Press Assn.— By telegraph—Copyright PARIS, January 10. M. Caillaux, French Premier, assured the Senate Committee on his word of honor -that the newspaper allegations that while Finance Minister in M. Monil's Cabinet he coducted irregular pourparlers with Germany unknown to his colleagues, M. Fallieres, M. Jules or M. Cambon, were untrue. M. Clemenceau pressed M. de Selves, Foreign Minister to say whether he was able to confirm-M. Caillaux's statements. M. de Selves said: "I cannot reply for I owe double duty to truth and the country's interests. . . A sensation was caused by -M. Clemenceau declaring "You may say this to anyone else, but not to me, because you informed me to the contrary." M. de Selves replied: "You misunderstood me." The Committee immediately adjourned and at a subsequent private conference between M. Gaillaux and M. de Selves, the latter announced his resignation. (Received Jaimiarv 11, 9.10 a.m.) PARIS, January 10. M. Deleasse, Minister for Marine, succeeds M. Deserves as Minister for Foreign Affairs. (Received January 11, 9.50 a.m.) PARIS, January 10. The Bourse is weak. M. Poincare has refused the portfolio of Foreign Affairs, but M. Deleasse accepted on condition that a Minister of Marine was appointed, who Avould pursue his policy. Admiral Germinet has declined the Ministership of Marine.
