SERIOUS ALTERCATION.
fPRttSS ASSOCIATION.] GISBOHXE, December 4. A sot-ions altercation took place in a Ixyardingiiouso .here- on Saturday •evening between two men, iabarens, named Thomas Fitzgerald and "William Brown. Then two wore disputing over -money matters, and were advised to settle the dispute on th,e lawn in front of the. house. Fitzgerald declined to fight .and went upstairs. foJlowed by Brown. Sarnie time later a disturbance was heard and the inmates rushed to Fitzgerald's; room. It is alleged that Brown forced Fitzgerald' on to the bed and badly treated 'him. Fitzgenald w.as found in -a- semi-conscious ooirditimi. A doctor was called iit -and ordered his removal to the hospital. He is .suffering; from injury to the spine, and y&s-torckiy remained in a semiconscious condition, but showed some slight improvement this evening. Brown was arrested and cbargoct with assault 'ii-t the police coiurt this ni'orning, -and remanded until next week.
