I PURRS ASSOCIATION.] HASTINGS, December 5. Douglas Bros, homestead, Ttmahanga, was completely destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon. The fire commenced in the laundry and fanned by a strong wind, it quickly spread to the main buildings containing 34- rooms which were totally destroyed. The outbuildings, storeroom, greenhouse and pumping shed were also gutted. Insurances on buildings £3OOO in the Union, furniture £7OO in the Standard. Very little was saved. A collection of jewellery valued about £ISOO was lost in the tire.
