WILD DISORDER.

SUSPENDED MEMBER DEI-IKS

MR SPEA KER

DISGRACEFUL SCENES

Press Assn—By telegraph—Copyright! SYDNEY, December 5. A violent .scene occurred in the New South "Wales Parliament. Air Wood, who was suspended a Hew weeks ago, took his seat, and immediately the Speaker entered, Air Wade arose and said Air Wood desired to make an apology. The Speaker declared that Air Wood was no longer a member of the House but a stranger. He could speak only from the bar ol the House. Air Wood indignantly proclaimed that ho was there representing his constituents, and would claim the right as a member to say what he had to say. The Speaker, amid disorder, said that if Air Wood did not obey the Chair he would be expelled from the Chamber. Air Wood replied heatedly that he would not go out, and the. Speaker ordered the. Sergeant<-at-Arms to remove him. ALr Wood refused to go and continued addressing the Chair, waving his arms wildly. The House was in a state of uproar, the Oppositionists howled, hooted and screamed out frenzied protests at what they termed the scandalous treatment of a colleague. Amidst terrific din a policeman broke through the throng and seized Messrs Wood and Cohen. Other members rallied round and three more policemen joined in the riot. Presently the police emerged from the seething throng carrying Air Wood bv the, arms and legs and deposited him in the lobby amidst cat calls and general howling. Air Cohen was next removed, and the Speaker then intimated that Air Wood could make an apology irom the bar of the House. This statement was greeted with further uproar, and Mr MM™}, »£ Arthur Moxham, and Colonel Ouslou were removed, and after a few others were called to order, the depleted House proceeded to husutess.
