£612,000 IN LOANS APPROVED. [press association.] WELLLVOTON, March 18. Sir Joseph Ward presided over a meeting of the State Guaranteed Advances Board to-day, and a large number of loans for local public bodies fot various purposes were considered, and loans were provisionally approved to the extent of £612,000. The preference was given to local bodies applying for moneys- for roads, bridges, sewerages, drainage, and water purposes, and those local bodies with backblock requirements Mere first considered, and where the securities were right the applications were in each case granted at 3o per cent, interest with sinking fund. The various public bodies will be advised tomorrow of the result of their applications.
