HOSPITAL BOARD ELECTION.
The lack of interest taken, in the poll yesterday was clearly shown by the fact that only about one-third of the electors recorded their votes. There was no vital principle at stake, and the issue was decided by those who took the trouble to go to the poll on purely personal grounds. The three candidates were alii suitable men for the position, and we are sure that the interests of the borough ai-e quite safe in the hainds of Messrs Wratt and Bickford. We still hold that the electors have made a. mistake in not taking advantage of the opportunity to benefit by the Mayor's long connection with charitable 'aid matters, but a majority thought otherwise, and there the matter must rest.
