ARNST v. WHELCH. [press association.] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Broken weather has interrupted Arnst and Whelch in their preparations for the coming race. The former is down to within 31bs of his rowing weight. Whelch has been doing solid work, but Arnst is taking matters more quietly. He had an accident with liis boat, by hitting a stone at low water, which knocked two holes in it. Whelch has a new boat, which suits him well.
