[press association.] WELLINGTON, January 17. At a meeting of the Council of the N.Z. Athletic Association to-night, letters were received from Wheatley and Davis, of Australia, stating that they avore unable to undertake the proposed tour of the Dominion early this year. '. Several communications were received regarding the proposed methods of providing for representation at future Olympic games. Invercargill Centre disapproved of a special levy on club members, and Auckland recommended a levy of sixpence for club members. Canterbury had the matter under consideration. A committee Avas appointed to revise the rules of the association. It was decided to support the Tasmanian Chib's suggestion that the distance for Australasian cross-coun-try championship, either five or ten miles, may be fixed by the association conducting that event. \ Applications from W. C. Woodyer and W. C. Mexted for reinstatement as amateurs were held over. Henry Gardner (Cambridge) and J. E. Falconer (Oamaru) Avere reinstated. Alfred M'Donald, of Stratford, is to be reinstated provided he joins either of the tAvo clubs in that district. The folloAving ay ere also reinstated —K. W. Eglinton (Pahnerston N.), L. J. Furrie (Wanganui), and A. W. Hall (Pahnerston North). "<
