TE AUTE v. WANGANUI COLLEGE.
This match was played at Palmerstoh yesterday, and resulted in a win -j for "Wanganui by 6 points to 3. A i strong wind was blowing down tho ' ground, and aided by this the Wa.nganui boys attacked strongly for most of the spell and scored once, J. Hives crossing after an excellent bit of passing. A heavy shower fell soon ; aftorwards, which made the- going very heavy and the ball both heavy and greasy. In this spell Te Aute were twice right on the Wanganui line, but could not cross . In tho second spell Te Auto were attacking almost all the time, and eventually soared by a piece of passing l which brought, down the house. Nehu (the centre three-quarter) gained possession in an awkward position, but | made an excellent opening by leaping over his tackier and passed to Mocke, the wing, who following the cue lea-p---•ed over the full-back -and scored. It was a fine exposition of football — •and hurdling. Following this ni three other occasions a To Ante man got over the Vma^but in each caso was recalled. With five minutes to go Wanganui got into tbo To Auto twenty-five for the first time during tho spell, and a back intercepting a pass passed to F. Collier, who scored. The game- ended without any ' addition — Wanganui 6, To Aute 3.
