Riches arrived from Lancashire last November. i ■ • -■,*■■ A FATALITY AT PONGAROA. [OWN COBBEBPONDENT.} PONGAROA, to-day. Percy Devery, about 19 years, was riding along Aohanga Road at 2 p.m. yesterday afternoon, with a mate named 1 Wooten, when his -horse fell,_ Wooten's horse falling orier . him. Devery received injuries from which he died at mignight. Deceased was an orphan boy, and was licensed out to Mr Newman, of Waione, by the Eduaction Department* .■ At Rangiofa.on Saturday afternoon an unmarried, middle-aged \ man, named Frank Coates, met with ah accident, which proved fatal. He "was topping a pine tree, about 20 feet from the ground, when, a gust of wind unexpectedly broke the top off. and he fell beneath to tho foot of the tree. He fell on his thigh, smashing it from the, groin to the knee.
