CORRESPONDENCE.
ENGLAND'S ARABS AND BEAU- 1 v TIFUL BELLS. (To the Editor.) Sir,— Glad Dannevirke is to be favored on Friday jiight with one of the rarest and richest of musical treats. The astounding manipulation of the bells at the right moment, producing such wonderful harmony of sound; the gentlemanly behaviour of our Empire's aristocratic arabs j the happy earnestness of Rev. W. j. Mayers; the grand desire of the world's noble philanthropist (the late Dr Barnardo) to save the poor innocent English arabs 'from the curse of intemperance and poverty's cruel hardships. For such a worthy purpose I wish the Drill Hall was twice the size it is. If the Imperial Empire followed our dominion's wisdom' in giving £1 for £1 for such noble institutions as Dr Barnardo's Homes, many more wee waifs would be saved from the curse of the world's strong drink. Oh, ye rich ; clip the wings of your wealth here. There will be no wee weary weans in the Better Land to help. No sick, no sad ones there. Now is your opportunity to enrich the, poor, and gladden the sad ; imitate Him who said, "It is more blessed to give than to, receive.'' — I am, etc., INASMUCH.
