Mr Davrson, of the New Zealand Alliance, who has just returned from the King Country, told a Post reporter that lie attended a pubJic- meeting at Itactihi, on Sunday, which passed a resolution strongly protesting against thergi-anting of, wholesale licenses in- \Raetihi, andneighborhood. A petition signed by 198 Europeans and 80 natives lias been forwarded to the clerk of the Licensing Court at AVaita.ra, and protests and petitions of a vsimilar character are also in preparation at Han-. gitaua and Ohakune. -...-.
