MR. LEMARE DIVORCED.
AUSTRALIAN TOUR DISASTROUS LONDON, October 16. Mr E. H. Lemare, tho distinguished organist, who made himself so popular in Australia and New Zealand a year or two ago, evidently found tho trip disastrous for his domestic happiness. At any rate, he appeared as respondent in the Divorce Court yesterday, before Sir H. Ckfrell Barnes. The petitioner, !Eisi© Francis Lemare., was lnairi^ respondent in 1902,' at St. Marg^ret^.TVestminster, and .toiired through America, and Australia with neVHtisband, who was giving concerts. In 1907, the petitioner fell ill .in Aiistralia, and her 'husband returned Homo alone. Later on Mtrs Lemaro returned' Home. The organist, however,, had changed his mind, and treated his wife with considerable coolness,^ eventually declining to live withTher. < The result of this was that proceedings were instituted for restitution of conjugal rights, a decree for which was granted as recently as May Ist of ! .this year. Evidence wa.s culled, to show that since that date the hus--I band) --who gave-, the St. Pancras Hotel as an address, said that "his ' whole happiness was wrapped lip in another woman." 3 . That this was so was proved by the reception clerk at the hotel, who produced ; the books, showing that tho 'respondent and a lady, had stayed there as mau and wife, Mrs Lcmarc recognising tho writing in tho book as that of her husband.
