A. hearty vote of thanks was passed to the ladies for the action they had taken. It was decided that hospital day should be hold on Christmas Eve, December 24th,. of this! year. Mr Biokford said 'that the ground committoe decided that the footpaths should bo tarred and sanded, and they- had arranged for a man to do the work. — Action endorsed, and further steps left in the hands of the committee. In connection with the Hospital Board election to be held on Monday next, it was decided that Mr Paterson} the secretary, should act as returning ofEcor. The matter of procuring a grindstone for use at the hospital was left in the hands of the chairman. In Tegard to the holidays granted the nurses, it was decided that in future only the regulation holidays bo allowed. The seoretary was instructed to write Matron Godfrey and Nurse Light, asking for an explanation of their not being ready for duty at the stipulated time. It was decided to leave tho painting 'of certain doors in the hands of the Chairman; also matter of attention to a- doorstep. The question of appointing nurses

to tho charge of the hospital, in tho absonco of the matron,-- was brought forward, and it was decided to hold a special meeting to discuss mutters connected with the staff on Monday next at 7.30. Mr Uickford mentioned thsit the -matron at present .relieving at the hospital would bo leaving thorn on December 17, and ho highly m'logiscd her services. The Chairman endorsed Mr liickford's remarks. It v was decided to deal with the . matter at the special meeting. . The matter of getting the grass mowed was left in the hands of* the grounds committee. It was decided to take steps to form a library at tho hospital for- the benefit of the patients, and it was ..resolved, to ask that anyone who had any books or periodicals to spare to donate them to form the nucleus. The mooting then adjourned.
