"THE GUVNOR."
To-night in the Drill Hall, Dannevirke, the Wellington Dramatic Club will produce Lankesteer's three act comedy, "The Guvnor." Everywhere produced by the club, "The Guvnor" has been a marked success, and the various press reports speak in high terms of the whole production. A powerful cast of 14^ including several well-known to Australian audiences will appear. The setting of the piece promises tto be above the ordinary arid a special feature will be the boatyard at willow-tree ferry, Putney. "The Guvnor" is a firsti clas comedy, and depends for its fun upon a general misunderstanding among the characters, a deaf boat- ' man and a cotchety .confectioner, both . ready to believe tlie worst, help to considerably tangle the love affairs of |- two young couples. ~ Wit, humor, and funny situations .are carried through till- the end of the last act, when the arrival of "The llcToddy'' ends the dilemma. Admirably acted as it is sure to be, residents: of Dannevirke should not miss the oportunity of seeing it. Seats can betreserved at Bartlett's.
