The weather at Waipukurauto-day was fine, but. windy and dry.
The annual meeting of the Dannevirke Crioket Club will be held tomorrow evening at the Criterion Hotel at 7.30.
A high westerly wind has been blowing all day, but no damage- of any importance has been reported. The wind has fanned smouldering bush fires into life, and- the town has been enveloped in smoke from the Tamaki district.
To-day's Herald contained the following : The wedding of two popular residents of Napier took place yesterday, when Mr- Arthur -E; Renouf, youngest son of Mr. H. Renouf, was married to Miss Bessie L. Hutchinson, youngest daughter of Mr H. S. Hutchinson. The ceremony was performed at the residence of the bride's parents, Miller street, by the Rev. J. A. Asher. The bride was given away by her father. The bridesmaids were Miss A. Aniiier and Miss L. Reader, cousin of the bride. Mr A. 0. Galbraith was best man, and Mr V. H. Hoadley was groomsman. At the conclusion of the ceremony the guests were entertained by the bride's parents, and subsequently Mr and Mrs A. E. Renouf, who receiv>ed many handsome presents and numerous congratulations, left by train en route for Wanganui on their honeymoon.
