DUNEDIN, to-day. Owing to the publication' of * two memos by Ci* Small and the Mayor on the financial position of the city, which were considered confidential, the finance committee as a whole resigned. This led to; a prolonged discussion in the Council lasting till 1 a.m. At times violent language was used, the Mayor terming the committee cowards for leaving him in the lurch. A- new, committee was appointed.
