A HURRICANE AT THE ISLANDS.
(Per Press Association! Auckland, This day. The Manapouri, from the Islnads, experienced the full force of the hurricane at Vavau. The damage ashore was considerable. With few exceptions the cutters and boats were sunk, and all the traders' jettieß on the foreshore were demolished. Trees were uprooted, and there was an extensive loss of fruit and nuts, and vines. Tltting's station at Tuanuku was wrecked, and their copra store was damaged. Though mv eh temporary loss" has been occasioned the damage is small compared with the hurricane of 1900. It is understood that Hopuai is not materially affected.
