The Ellerslie trainer G. Jenkins, who has turned Tiger Tan out for a spell, left to-day for Whangarei with Hayduk and Miss Julienne, who will be ridden by C. Markwick. and • the hurdler Brome, on whom R. Collett will have the mount on Saturday. Other riding engagements for Whangarei include: D. Lye, Commissar; C. Jillings, Transfix; J. Bagby, Sir Leon, British Mint, Commo, Skymaster; J. Winder, Rara Avis; H. P. Stewart, Te Ka'witi, Prince Reihi. If Sir Dink starts in the mile race J. Williamson will have the mount but if he goes to the post in the Cup he will be ridden by B. George. Most Ellerslie horses engaged will leave for Whangarei on Friday.
