Treaty To Be Considered In

Humane Way

N.Z. Press Association—Copyright Rec. 1 p.m. MILAN, Oct. 5

According to the London correspondent of the Corriere Lombardo, the Foreign Secretary, Mr. Ernest Bevin, in an interview, said that with the advent of the Labour party to power the traditional British foreign policy would be revised. The Government would follow with understanding the efforts Italy was making to proceed along the path of true democracy. The Great Powers, in discussing a peace treaty for Italy, did not want to resort to improvisations dictated by any contingency. They wanted to solve the question of the treaty in a more considerate and more humane way. Clandestine Movement A clandestine Fascist movement has been uncovered in Milan, reports The Times Rome correspondent. The police secured a copy of one of many threatening letters received by wellknown former Fascists. It bore the heading, "Fascist Republican Party." The letter, after praising Mussolini, declared that the party had been reformed and was flourishing. It condemned to death , many "traitors," including the recipient of the letter, who was accused of selling himself to the Communists. He was then warned to get in touch with the party before it was too late and before an armed insurrection was launched.
