JUNIOR CHAMBER CONVENTION "Ail work and no play" is definitely not the slogan of the national convention of the New Zealand Junior Chamber of Commerce and the agenda provided for a banquet held last evening at the Royal Hotel, venue of the convention, followed by a smoke concert at the Manchester Unity Hall. At this function the oratory contest was held, the Stotter Cup being awarded to Mr. W. Kohn (Gi.-borne) who spoke on Lord Rutherford. Adjudicators were Mr. L. K. Munro and Mr. E. A. Aldridge.! The Alfred Eady trophy for the best j social project initiated and carried out during the year was awarded to Auckland for the Services Commercial Contact Centre project. This afternoon members took part in a scenic drive and a conducted tour of a brewery, and this evening a dance will be held at the Teachers' Training College. To-morrow an inspection of Westhaven and the export wharf and an excursion to Motuihi are arranged.
