BEST SHORT STORY

The winner of the September short Story contest is John Wardrop (15), who will receive the first prize of 5/ for his tale, "Return From Overseas." This is quite a good story, though the plot had opportunities for description and feeling of which John could have taken more advantage. Only one other award can bo made this month, the standard being lower than for a long time. A merit card will be awarded Gwenda Clements (11).
