FACTORY CONTROLS

THIRTEEN MORE REVOKED

COMMENT BY MINISTER

P.A. WELLINGTON, this day. Commenting to-day on the revocation of 13 factory control notices, gazetted last night, the Minister of Supply, Mr. Sullivan, said this meant that 29 of the 44 factory controls had been revoked. The factory control notices still in operation were all necessary at present because of overseas supply difficulties, but they would be reviewed so that they could be revoked when no longer necessary, added the Minister: Remaining controls included those over brushware, ball and roller bearings, bicycle tyres and tubes, rubber, kapok, tinplate, industrial sewing machines and paint; The revocation of some controls did not mean that supplies would increase at once, but meant that manufacturers could go ahead to the extent of the supplies available.
