MR. FRASER ATTACKED
RECENT PUBLICATION
"FILTHY AND SCURRILOUS" Parliamentary Reporter. WELLINGTON, this day. Members of the House of Representatives were greatly interested last night when Mr. Macfarlane (Govt., Christchurch South) referred to what he called a filthy and scurrilous publication attacking the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser.
He was not, he said, laying this at the door of the National Party, because he knew that there were people not associated with them who more or less took leave of their senses. The' publication \vas in his hands, but he would not ask any other member to look at it. Obviously it was a first class printing office which producde it, but it was filthy and scurrilous.
Mr. Macfarlane indicated his intention of quoting some references from the pamphlet, but was reminded by Mr. Speaker that if it was filthy and scurrilous he could not do so. He went on to say that the work which the Prime Minister had" done for the country during the war had seriously undermined his health and that the Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, had made a good job of the financial administration. Probably the Minister of Supply, Mr. Sullivan, had been subjected to more unfair attacks than any other Minister, but the people of Christchurch knew his capacity for hard work and appreciated his services.
