MANNERS OF TRAM TRAVELLERS

Far be it from me to accuse New Zealanders of bad manners, but one thing obtrudes itself upon my notice. I continually use the trams on all Auckland routes. It is rarely that I hear anyone say "please," or "thank you," to the conductors. We hear loud and grievous complaints about the faults and failings of both drivers and conductors. Perhaps a little more courtesy and graciousness on the part of the travelling public might make for a pleasanter feeling amongst us all. JESSIE B. LUSH*
