INTER-ISLAND RUGBY EDEN PARK NEXT MONTH "This is great news," observed the chairman, Mr. A. A. Baker, when reporting at last night's meeting of the Auckland Rugby Union that the New Zealand Union had agreed to play the North v. South Island match at Auckland on August 25. The date previously arranged was September 15, but as that clashed with a meeting of the Auckland Trotting Club .representations were> made by Mr. Baker to have the inter-island match transferred to another date. It will be the first North v. South match + o be played in Auckland for 23 years. Consequent upon the alteration in the date of the inter-island match, the union has now arranged its representative fixtures as follow:—July 14, Auckland v. Northern Combined Services, at Eden Park; July 28, Auckland v. Waikato, at Eden Park, Auckland B v. Thames, at Thames; August 11, Auckland v. King Country, at 'Taumarunui, Auckland v. Bay of Plenty, at Whakatane; August 25, North v. South Island, at Eden Park; September 1, Auckland v. Wellington, at Eden Park; September 22, Auckland v.* Wellington, at Wellington. Messrs. J. W. Lethbridge and L. S. Drake were appointed team managers for Saturday's match against the Combined Services.
