R.S.A. MEMBERSHIP

ELECTORAL, OFFICERS P.A. WELLINGTON, Friday. Regretting that he had created a misapprehension yesterday in reference to "Major X" as an electoral officer who had gone to the Middle East in 1943, Mr. D. Forsyth (Dunedin) made it clear to the conference of the New Zealand Returned Services' Association to-day that the reference intended was to an officer who went to the Pacific zone solely on election business and subsequently became a member of the association.

Mr. Forsyth said that the officer who went to the Middle East for the election had persistently refused to apply for membership.
