IN CRIPPLED BOAT

FISHERMEN'S LONG DRIFT O:G SYDNEY, June 20. Two fishermen drifted for nine days in a crippled motor boat before be Tfe r merßobert Flint <50> and John Gibbs (63), both of Brisbane were rescued off Point Lookout <QJ by a pilot boat last Saturday. They left Brisbane on Friday, June 8, to fish in South Passage (Moreton Bay) and anchored for the night off Stradbroke Island. . The next morning they found that their anchor had dragged, and had become wedged m a reef, fouling the propeller of the boat. .Strong winds were blowing and the propeller shaft was torn out. They hoisted sails, but they were ripped broke on Monday morning, June 11, .they found they had drifted 60 miles.. Soon they were opposite Fingal lighthouse, in New South Wales. Before they were close enough to attract attention the wind changed. The wind; which at tones Wew at 70 miles an hour blew them back opposite Moreton Bay. They tried to get around Cape Moreton on Saturday June 16 but were again blown out to sea when they sighted the pilot boat.
