Marshal Stalin, in an Order of the Day, addressed to Marshal Rokossovsky, in his advance across Mecklenburg, announced the capture of Greifswald. 15 miles west of Peenemunde, Treptow, 54 miles south-east of Rostock, Neustrelitz, 60 miles north-west of Berlin, Furstenburg, 43 miles north-west of Berlin, and Gransee, 37 miles north-north-west of Berlin, which are described as important highway junctions in West Pomerania and Mecklenburg.
Marshal Rokossovsky's troops also occupied Rheinsburg, Lassan and Wolgast. Marshal Stalin, in an Order of the Day addressed to General Yeremenko, says: "Troops of the Fourth Ukrainian Command to-day captured Moravska Ostrava, on the border of Silesia and Czechoslovakia, also the railway junction of Zilina, 32 miles south-south-east of Moravska Ostrava."
