BUS STOPPAGES
On Thursday buses were off the road during the day, though they ran morning and evening for the workers. I am a worker, running a home for a family, compelled to fetch and carry all the necessities; heavy work, believe me. On Thursday I had to walk with my parcels, battling against wind and rain. _ It was a most unpleasant and trying experience for one no longer young. This is a job being done by hundreds of women to-day. The bus companies have a license granted them to carry passengers, and they should be compelled to provide a service for all. whether early, late or day workers. Many women ran heavy motor vehicles for our Allies in time of need, and I suggest the bus companies call on these women to stand by on stop work days and maintain a service. Surely it could be done under the Emergency Precautions Act. A WOMAN.
