STORAGE OF FOODSTUFFS

P.A. WELLINGTON, Thursday. With a view to securing the most efficient method of cool storage for foodstuffs throughout the Dominion, the Cool Store Control Order, 1945, has been gazetted. The order affects all cool stores which have been used for the storage of primary products. Such stores, if "<;ed during the past year for the sti. "age of fruit and vegetables, will continue to be used for this purpose. In the case of the storage of fruit, application for consent to store such commodities will in future be made to the director of the Internal Marketing Division, and in the case of applications for the storage of primary produce, other than fruit, applications must be made to the refrigeration supervisor, Department of Agriculture.
