LICENSING LAWS
COMMISSION'S PERSONNEL
ANSWER MADE TO CRITICISM
WELLINGTON, this day.
Criticism of the personnel of the Licensing Commission which was telegraphed to the Minister of Justice, Mr. Mason, by Mr. Milner, secretary of the New Zealand Alliance, has been answered by the following telegram from Mr. Mason: "Referring to the first part of your telegram, I can only refer you to the terms of the commission. Referring to your complaint as to the personnel, this is widely representative and care has been taken to have a non-sectional viewpoint dominating."
The question whether the commission would be open to the Press was raised by Mr. Milner. There is no specific reference in the terms of the commission to admission of the Press, but the commission, which confers next Friday, will make its own decision on the matter.
