YOUNG MAN'S DEATH
RUX DOWN BY CAR P.A. WELLINGTON, Monday. Three youths were struck by a motor car on the main road at Heretaunga early yesterday morning, one being killed and the others injured. The youth who lost his life was: Robert Morrison, aged 20, of Tinakori Roafl, Wellington. Donald Poole, aged 18, of Heretaunga suffered compound fractures of both legs, and the third youth, Warwick Griffin, aged 18, of Upper Hutt, suffered shock. Six youths, including the three who' were struck by the car, had been to the pictures in Wellington. They were driving home toward Upper Hutt in a car, and picked up two more youths. Nearing Heretaunga the vehicle apparently ran out of petrol, and the youths decided to push the car for the brief distance they had still to go. Three were pushing on the right-hand side of the car when they were struck by a car travelling toward Wellington.
