INTERNATIONAL CURRENCY

Being very interested in anything to promote international goodwill, I should like to ask your correspondent, Hedley Stewart, two questions concerning the last paragraph in his recent letter. First, how can v/e in Ne'»v Zealand, unaided and with a population of between one and two million, have control over our own destiny if we place ourselves in opposition to a country such as Japan with a population of about 40 times our own? Second, what would be our present fate if Britain and the United States of America had not interested themselves in our destiny when Japan entered tho war? Our destiny is so merged with that of our Allies that the only hope for the world seems to be for us to work with them to win the peace as well as to win the war. E.W.M.
