TO SELL BONDS

A meeting of representatives of women's organisations in the city was presided over by the Mayoress Mrs J. A. C. Allum, in the Council Chamber of the Town Hall yesterday afternoon, to discuss how women could help in the raising of the amount of the 1944 Victory Loan allocated to the Auckland area. Mr. F. Sutherland, manager of the Auckland Savings Bank, Mr. W. G Miller, manager of the Bank of New Zealand, Mr. Horace Bull, of the Auckland Victory Loan Committee, and Mr. Melling, honorary secretary of the committee, addressed the gathering. It was decided that the women's organisations would organise a "ladies' day" for the selling of bonds in the city.
