LAND AND INCOME TAX
ANNUAL, BILL PASSED (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, this day. The Land and Income Tax (Annual) Bill was • passed in the House of Representatives la9t night after members had spoken on many angles of the taxation question. The Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, opened the evening sitting with his reply to the second reading debate and the House went into Committee on the bill. The Committee stage was completed at 10.15 and the bill was then put through the remaining stages and passed. The House then adjourned until this afternoon.
A brief sitting was held in the afternoon when formal business was taken, followed by tributes to the public service rendered by the late Mr. T. W. Rhodes, a former member of the House of Representatives for Thames.
