CLUB COLOURS
PRINCIPLE APPROVED ROSE DAY ARRANGEMENTS
There was a strong muster of club presidents and secretaries at the joint meeting held last week-end when the questibn of club colours and other matters affecting relations between the district organisations and the central R.S.A. were discussed. Replies from most of the clubs accepted the principle of club colours, and some mentioned the colours they wished to be registered.
There were several cases of duplication, but it was indicated that agreement could easily be reached to avoid two clubs having the same token. The idea is that colours be worn on a small celluloid background to the R.S.A. badge so that the club to which a returned man belongs will be readily distinguishable and thereby create an added community of interest.
Mr. A. P. Postlewaite, who presided, referred to Rose Day, which falls this year on Friday, November 22. He expressed the appreciation of the R.S.A. for the services the clttbs had rendered last year, and hoped that the results this year would at least roach that figure. He stressed the relationship between the financial success of Rose Day and the clubs, and stated that it would be his intention when R.S.A. Building has been freed of debt and could be handed as a legacy untrammelled to the fighting men of to-day for all time, that Rose Day should be continued as an R.S.A. street day, and that the clubs should benefit from the proceeds on the same principle as Poppy Day.
It was stated that volunteers were still required for making the roses for the street day, and any ladies willing to assist would be welcomed. They may be supplied with the necessary material with which to work in their homes or clubrooms, or parties may attend at arranged periods at the poppy factory under the supervision of Mr. Neville Pearson.
At the close of the conference the delegates were entertained at supper In the cafeteria.
