QUEEN CARNIVAL

OTAHTJHU SUCCESS The recent queen carnival held by the Otahuhu and District Returned Services' Association to raise funds for the erection of a Memorial Hall, and which resulted in a profit of £6000, was brought to a fitting conclusion last evening, when a coronation ceremony was held in the Orpheus Theatre. Miss Sheila Murdoch, schools queen, was the queen elect. The sports queen was Miss Vivian Kirkham; the R.S.A. queen. Miss Mary Ewan; and the Armed Forces queen, Miss Kathleen Bailey. The master of ceremonies was Mr. J. Hopkins.
