There was a small yarding of beef at the Westfield fat stock- market to-day. The demand for both classes was keen and the prices realised were much firmer than last week. AUCTIONEER'S REPORT Beef was penned in small numbers. Tlrere was a keen demand and values improved on last week's large entry. Extra choice ox sold up to 39/ per 1001b.; choice and prime, 36/ to 38/; secondary and plain. 33/ to 35/; prime young cow and heifer beef, up to 35/; choice and prime. 30/ to 34/; ordinary cow beef. 27/ to 29/. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £15 to £15 17/6; heavy, £14 to £14 17/6: medium, £12 10/ to £13 15/; light, £11 15/ to £12 17/6; small and unfinished, £9 to £11.
