TRAINS DELAYED

DERAILMENT AT JUNCTION

The Limited express to Wellington was 15 minutes late in starting last night through a derailment of the second carriage of a train bound for Papakura at about 5.40 p.m, on the Auckland-Westfield junction deviation. A passenger train proceeding to Papatoetoe and a heavy goods train were delayed for about an hour. Passengers from these trains were transferred to a relief train from Otahuhu. A break-down crane was sent from the city at about eight o'clock and the line was cleared towards midnight.
