HOSPITALITY

Many famous units of the Eighth Army are now on furlough in Australia. I think it would be a fine gesture if New Zealand, like Australia, undertook the responsibility of giving some of these men a furlough in New Zealand. The invitation could be extended to include the R.A.F., the R.N. and, if possible, the Merchant Navv, all of which could send men to New Zealand at regular intervals. It is the least we can do to show our appreciation. These tired men could relax in this country, where, when the time came, they would return more voluntarily than if they were in their homelands—England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. AMICUS.
