FIRM VALUES REALISED
Both classes or beer were in short supply at the Westfield fat stock markets to-day. There was a steady demand, and values were firm and slightly higher than those of last week.
AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS Beet.— Ox beef was penned in less than average numbers and sold to a steady demand at late values. Cow and heiler beef were penned In smaller numbers and sold readily, values being very firm. Extra choice ox sold to 40. per 1001b: choice and prime, 37' to 39/; secondary and plain, 33' to 36/; prime young cow and heifer beef. 32 to 34 : ordinary cow beef, 24/ to 27/; choice and prime, 28' to 31/; extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £15 2'6 to £16; heavy, £14 to £15; lighter. £12 10/ to £13 17 6; light. £10 to £12 7 6: small and unfinished. £7 to £9 15 : extra heavy prime youns cows and heifers, £11 to £12 15,'.; heavy. £9 5/ to £10 10. ; lighter, £8 to £9 2 6; light, £6 10/ to £7 17/6; others, £3 to £6 7.'6.
