MINE WORKERS' CASES
APPEALS TO BE REVIEWED (P.A.) GREYMOUTH, this day. Bringing to a head a prolonged period of go-slow tactics at the Strongman and Liverpool State mines, which has resulted in the diminution of the fortnightly production by almost half, and following a visit by the Minister of National Service, Mr. McLagan, 200 men employed at these mines have received telegrams warning them to attend sittings of the Armed Forces Appeal Board, called at Greymouth for Monday and Wednesday, when sine die adjournments will be reviewed. These reservists include miners, truckers, drivers, deputies and shiftmen. It is understood that any necessary medical examination will begin immediately the hearings are concluded. Meanwhile the production at both mines continues to decline.
