Senate Calls On Hull To Support

Relief Measures

RIGID SAFEGUARDING URGED

Rec. 11 a.m. WASHINGTON, Feb. 16.

The United States Senate has unanimously passed a resolution calling on the Secretary for State, Mr. Cordell Hull, to co-operate with Britain, Sweden and Switzerland in establishing a relief system to feed the populations of Belgium, Norway Greece. Poland, Yugoslavia, Holland and Czechoslovakia. The resolution, which does not require the House of Representative approval, does not possess legal force. It merely Serves as a recommendation to Mr. Hull. The resolution urges the rigid safeguarding of relief so that invading nations do not benefit thereby and recommends the adoption of the system under which the Swedish and Swiss Governments have distributed food in Greece through the International Red Cross.
