MAY BE PROSECUTED
BROKEN GLASS OFFENDERS If the names of any people leaving broken glass on the streets can be ascertained prosecutions may follow, as a result of a decision made by the Mount Eden Borough Council last night. Mr. C. Hough said a good deal of broken glass was found on the streets. It was not only caused by broken bottles, but also by collisions between motorists, who neglected to clear up the debris. "One prosecution and a hefty fine should deter others from being careless," hg said. Some councillors were dubious about the likelihood of obtaining the names of offenders. It was decided, however, to ask the traffic inspector to endeavour to do this.
