OBITUARY
MR. AV. S. MoCREDIE The death has occurred of Mr. William Septimus McCredie, of Auckland, and formerly of Gisborne. Mr. McCredie was born in Wellington in 1874. the son of the late Colonel and Mrs. Matthew McCredie. He was a scholarship winner at Wellington College. As a young man he moved with his parents to Gisborne, where he lived until 1917, then settled in Auckland. Mr. McCredie was a well-known footballer and cricketer in Gisborne. He was for several seasons a Poverty Bay Rugby representative, and in 1901 was captain of the provincial team. He leaves three children. Mrs. J. H. Rutherford. Gisborne. FlyingOfficer A. F. B. McCredie, R.N.Z.A.F., and Major J. M. D. McCredie. who is serving overseas with the N.Z.E.F. Mrs. F. C. King, Auckland, and Mrs. J. E. Jenkinson. Feilding. are sisters, and Mr. J. D. McCredie, Sydney, is a brother.
