MEETING OF MEN
OFFICIAL STATEMENT DEPUTATION TO CABINET The following official statement was issued this morning by Mr. F. Craig, president of the Auckland Trades Council of the Federation of Labour, to which body the dispute had been referred:— "The men met this mo»ing at 8 o'clock, and accepted the*recommendation of the Trades Council to return to work. A deputation is leaving to-night to interview the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, and members of Cabinet in regard to all matters in connection with the gas works.- The deputation consists of myself as president of the Auckland Trades Council, Mr. R. Stanley, Auckland representative on the National Council of the Federation of Labour; Mr. A. Drennan, vicepresident, who is now in Wellington; Mr. A. Bell, secretary of the Auckland Gas-workers' Union, and Messrs. Graydon and Cargill, also representing the union."
