BOOT TRADE AWARD
VARIATIONS AGREED TO
A number of variations in the New Zealand boot trade industrial award appear in the agreement between employers and workers, which has been made into an award by the Arbitration Court, to operate from September 1 this year to September 1 next year.
Provision is made for a 40-hour week, with overtime at time and a half for the first four hours and double time thereafter. Anniversary Day is added to the statutory holidays, and where Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year's Day falls on a Saturday a holidav is to be observed on the first working day following. The wage rates are as before, except that youths in the last six months before receipt of adult rates are to receive '82/6 per week instead of 75/*, owing to their performing additional trade operations. Additional operations are named for female workers, with pay accordingly.
