SCOUT VESSEL
VISIT TO AUCKLAND
In the course of a Dominion tour which commenced in Dunedin. and has since included as ports of call Wellington, Foxton and Gisborne, the Dominion Commissioner for bea Scouts, Mr. A. Black, is due to arrive in Auckland in the sea scouts vessel Sea Rover at 2.30 to-morrow afternoon. Mr Black will be welcomed by the Mayor, Mr. Allum, and representatives of the Royal New Zealand Navy, the Harbour Board and the scout movement. A sea scout service will be held by the port chaplain, the Rev. H. K. Vickery, at the Flying Angel Missions to beamen's chapel on Sunday. On Monday a meeting will be held at Scout House, when Mr. Black will discuss the .ideals and advantages of scouting, and those of sea scouting in particular. Considerable interest has been aroused in the arrival of the Sea Rover, which was built by Mr. Black. It is an auxiliary vessel, which on the present tour has shown its seaworthiness in heavy weather. It Is 53ft in length, has a 13ft beam and a 7ft draught.
